The name ’Roslagen’ comes from the word ‘rodzlag’ referring to the Upland coast’s ancient rowing teams with rowing warriors. Today, Roslagen covers the municipalities of Vaxholm, Österåker, Norrtälje and Östhammar – the former coast districts in Upland.

The Archipelago Route – an outdoor recreation and tourist destination network is taking shape in the beautiful archipelago regions of Roslagen, the Åland Islands, Åbo/Turku Archipelago and Western Nyland/Uusimaa.
